Thought I'd post a list of the Top 10 Personal Finance Books that have helped me understand the subject of money. Before going out and starting to invest, I needed to make sure I had my own financial house (aka personal finances) in order.
There have been countless people who go out and invest without even having their own finances in order first. By having your financial house in order, you will know how much money is going in and how much is going out, and what areas you need to work on - this is basic stuff most people don't even know.

A lot of good books here Rachel. Rich Dad, Poor Dad is what did it for me and made me want to start investing.
I'd like to add some other books to your list if you don't mind?
Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover. Now I'm not much of a religious type and he does throw religion in his book but for folks on your blog that aren't religious, please don't not read this book because of that. Just take the main content of the book for what it is and it is good stuff. You can ignore his religious speak if you wish (I did.)
Also, I've read Suze Orman's 9 Steps To Financial Freedom and You've Earned it Don't Lose it.
And recently I've been reading books by Larry Winget. He definitely doesn't sugar coat anything and gives it to you straight up! I like that. It's good stuff.
Although, most of these books do talk about the same things over and over....but repetition is key of course.

Thanks, Carey! I listen to Dave Ramsey's show and also watch Suze Orman from time to time - they are both great! I especially like Suze Orman's segment "Can I afford it?"
